Georgy Gromov

A stylistically versatile artist, Georgy Gromov is praised by critics for depth, expressiveness and fidelity of his performances. Both as a soloist and an award-winning conductor, he has performed in the most important concert halls of Europe and Asia, including the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Seoul Arts Centre, Konzerthaus Berlin, among others.
He has appeared at the world’s most prestigious music festivals, including the Verbier Festival and the Klavier Festival Ruhr.
Georgy Gromov is known for his expertise in the Classical and Romantic repertoire. In 2011 he has performed the complete 32 Piano Sonatas by Beethoven, his complete piano concertos, all the violin sonatas and the complete sonatas and variations for cello. In 2015 he has performed the complete 27 Mozart concertos. In 2018 he performed the complete Rachmaninov concertos.
The solo repertoire of Georgy Gromov includes over 80 different programs, containing all the major works from Baroque to XXI century music. He has over 50 piano concertos in his repertoire, including the complete Rachmaninov, Beethoven and Mozart concertos.
The winner of 12 international awards, Georgy Gromov received the “Prix d’Oslo” at the international music competition in Norway, the EPTA Prize, the C. Franck Prize, and the Audience Prize. In the same year, he won First prize at the International R. Schumann Piano Competition and First prize at the International Piano Competition Maria Golia in Italy. In 2011, he was awarded Grand Prix at the International Music Competition in Seoul (Korea).
Georgy Gromov graduated with honour as a composer, pianist and conductor from the Gnessins’ College of Music (Moscow), and completed his mastery at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he studied with the legendary Professor Eliso Virsaladze. Later on he perfected his skills with Professor Klaus Hellwig at the Berlin University of the Arts. Georgy is living in Germany since 2010.
In 2015 he founded his own music academy. He regularly serves as a jury member at the international music competitions. In 2018-2020 Georgy worked as an artistic director and chief conductor at the Orenburg Philharmonic.
Georgy Gromov is a professional coach (PCC ICF). Since 2023 he is a board member of the Federation of professional mentors and coaches, and leads the international department. In 2024 he became a winner of the prize «TOP-3 Coaches». He regularly gives master classes in different conservatories on master methods of coaching. In 2025 he gave a master class at the Conservatory of Livorno “Methods of Coaching in the musical education: new possibilities while maintaining the traditions”. In May 2026 he gives a master class for conductors “Advanced Professional Training for Conductors” at the University of Arts Berlin. Georgy Gromov’s activities, both as an artist and as a coach, serve the same goal: help people grow through the art and personal development.
