Born in Genoa, Marco Vincenzi obtained his piano degree summa cum laude in 1978, winning his prize for the best graduated of the year. Then he continued his studies with Maria Tipo in Geneva Conservatoire Superieur, winning his Prix de Virtuosit\u00e9 in 1986; in the same year he obtained also his composition degree and his university degree in modern letters summa cum laude, with a thesis about Dinu Lipatti, which won a prize for musicology from Lipatti Foundation in Bucharest. Winner of several prizes in national and international piano competitions, he obtained his 1st prize in Stresa and Salzburg Mozarteum Competitions.<\/span>
\nHe performed in Italy, Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, USA, as a soloist and with orchestra, in some of the most famous concert halls, such as Florence Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Genoa Carlo Felice, Parma Teatro Regio, Rome Palazzo del Quirinale, Vicenza Teatro Olimpico, Paris Radio France, Den Haag Diligentia, Berne Casino, RTSI Lugano. He played under the baton of Piero Bellugi, Arpad Gerecz, Marc Kissoczy, Peter Maag, Daniel Smith and for 30 years was a partner in chamber music of the violinist Cristiano Rossi, but also of Nuovo Quartetto Italiano, Quartetto Fon\u00e8, Quartetto di Fiesole, Solisti della Scala.<\/span>
\nAll his CDs (Lipatti, Wolf-Ferrari, Busoni, Rota, Pizzetti, Vieuxtemps, Respighi, Mozart-Busoni. Schubert-Busoni) were edited by Dynamic and they received very good press reviews by the most important specialized magazines (such as Gramophone, Classic voice and Le monde de la musique) in Europe and USA.<\/span>
\nAs an essayist, he wrote many papers for Civilt\u00e0 musicale, Il Giornale della Musica, Musica, PianoTime, Symphonia, I quaderni dell\u2019istituto Liszt and published the proceedings of the conferences Ferruccio Busoni e il pianoforte del Novecento e Drammaturgie musicali del Novecento. In 2020 he published the first Italian translation of the historic biography Ferruccio Busoni by E. J. Dent (1933). <\/span>
\nMarco Vincenzi was the director of Centro Studi Musicali Ferruccio Busoni in Empoli (Busoni\u2019s birth town) for 24 years and artistic director of International \u201cA. Speranza\u201d Piano Competition in Taranto for 12 years; currently, he is piano professor and chief of piano department in Genoa Conservatory, and he is often invited as a jury member in many important international piano competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n
